About me

Hej!

My name is Doris Träg, I come from Germany and moved to Sweden in December 2023. Here I am now realizing my dream of having my own practice.

Ever since I was a child, I always wanted to be close to animals. Unfortunately, having an own pet was not possible for a long time due to work and living situation, but at least our first dog - Willi - was finally able to move in.

Willi was a three-legged street dog from Romania with many health problems. He made me want to help poor, injured, sick and old dogs. Since then, we have only taken in old or sick dogs from animal welfare. Through them and numerous visits to the vet, I learned how important health care, a good vet and accompanying physiotherapy are.

So I decided to focus not only my private life but also my job entirely on animals.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to study medicine, but I was lucky to complete training as an animal physiotherapist and alternative practitioner for dogs and cats at the ATM (Akademie für Tiernaturheilkunde und Tierphysiotherapie GmbH).

I was also able learn a lot from our veterinarian in Germany and even worked there as a swimming physiotherapist for dogs. This of course included working with sick dogs (e.g. with osteoarthritis or for rehab after a herniated disc), but also working with young dogs for prevention and getting used to the water.

I see my work as an animal physiotherapist and alternative practitioner as a supplement to veterinary care. Despite the many options that physiotherapy and alternative medicine offer us, extensive diagnostics and treatment by conventional medicine is often important.

The well-being of animals has always been particularly important to me and is my focus!

Since I am still learning the Swedish language, I currently speak English and German in my practice. I hope you understand this! Health speaks a universal language, so I think we can definitely communicate :)

I am now looking forward to supporting you and your furry friends – no matter what stage of life they are in!
